Journal Entry 1 by wandering from Den Haag, Zuid-Holland Netherlands on Saturday, September 10, 2011
blurb: Hosea Funk is the mayor of Algren, a tiny town in Canada. For most of his adult life, Hosea has believed he is the biological son of John Baert, the prime minister. When he receives a letter from Baert, informing him that Algren is in the running for the prize of Canada's smallest town, an accolade that would be awarded by the prime minister himself, Hosea's task becomes clear: he will keep the population of Algren down to 1,500, he will win the prize and finally be reunited with his real father. The return of Knute and her daughter Summer Feelin' to their home town therefore is not welcome news to Hosea. And his girlfriend Lorna's endless requests to move in with him - which would tip the scales well over the magic number - have to be negotiated carefully. And what with all the multiple births these days and so many people living a long time, the obstacles to Hosea's goal are stacking up...
