This is one of the rare cases where I didn't enjoy the book quite as much as the movie!
Now that partly would be that Shirley McClaine and Debra Winger did such a great job (not to mention Jack Nicholson) . . . or perhaps it was my mood when I read it . . . but I found the extra characters introduced in the book that Holloywood in it's need to make everything fit a two hour time frame can't possibly include) to be confusing, and actually missed the way they handled things in the movie.
That being said, it's still a good book.
I also need to note that the picture (above) is NOT the cover of my copy of the book -- I've got the one with Shirley McClaine and Debra Winger on the cover. But hey, I wanted a picture (yes, yes, I know, but this is part of the charm of BookCrossings, we all get to do things our own individual way, all the while hoping that we keep our individualism fitting in with the general BookCrossing mission).
I look forward to comments from future readers about their ideas about the book and my topic -- "book vs. movie -- which is better?"

As soon as I track down the labels I printed out for this book, and get them pasted on and acrylic'd over, I'll be releasing this book, so I'm setting it's status as available!
