Reserved for Icila for the European WishList Tag. :)
Currently reading it, alternating it with Christmas ghost stories...
In fact, I finished reading this page-turner some days ago, but never came round to reviewing it.
As I said, a real page-turner which kept me guessing almost until the end... In fact, I don't know if this was intentional or I was distracted, but I thought that Burgess was a person until the last page... although a not very talkative partner. :)
Initially I was rather confused by so many female characters introduced at once, but they are so cleverly described and depicted that they were easy to differentiate, each one with different traits and histories. I could easily identify with Margaret, but I loved Ellie and her decision to change her life, and the family life of Beth.
I have read another novel by Ms Smith, "Fatal Attraction", which I also enjoyed a lot. I must look for more, she seems to be quite prolific.
Thanks for sharing, Lamilla; I should have read it sooner... although it seems to have travelled a lot with very few readers. Well, it will soon continue its travels.
