Whoever it was that said "Bookstogive is the most wonderful bookcrosser in the USA" sure was right! Thanks for this fabulous book from my wishlist, as well as the birthday card, stickers, and BC supplies. You're the best Sandy!!

This one just got bumped a little higher on my mental TBR list, as I see that it is on the wishlist of a friend (lils74). Since there are several of my TBRs on her list, I will try to read them all in the near future and then mail them all in the same package to Nepal.

A very interesting book and a good reminder of how simple life can be when we are not obsessed with the getting of more stuff. Lots of good lessons on budgeting and living more frugally, even if you don't plan to live without a salary (out of the question for me -- 30 more years of paying student loans ahead). I don't know that I would be comfortable living quite as off-the-grid as the author does (I happen to be a very big fan of running water), but I loved some of his creative ideas for using and/or acquiring things.

This book is one of the ones I am planning to send off to lils74 in Nepal, along with a few more from her wishlist. I still have one or two to read in the next couple weeks, then it will be on its way.

Thank you so much, 6of8--this book being part of a generous six-book bundle! This is one I put on my wishlist because it caught my eye, but I didn't think it was the sort that would be easily found. What a great surprise! I'm hoping it will help me learn something about stretching my money!

Finished this a few days ago; I've been reading my way through it over the past few weeks. For some reason I've been uninterested in fiction for the last month or so, favouring non-fiction, and this is perfect to read in bits. It's a great book--thanks for sending it to me, 6of8 (and thanks for releasing it, Bookstogive!) There was so much fascinating information that was new to me, and I learned a lot from reading it. While I can't use a lot of the practical help that's unique to North America, there was so many ways that what I read provided me with a new mentality on issues. I particularly liked the idea of asking the question of what the problem is, what the need is at the core, not just what we've been marketed as a solution. Also the idea of thinking "how can I do....." rather than "what can I buy to do...."
And I thought I was pretty saving before I read this, but compared to this family--I don't compare! I'd highly recommend this book to anyone.
I liked these lines...

"The greatest security is not in having the most, but in needing the least. A simple lifestyle, with a bare-bones budget, is not only cheap in itself, it's also cheap to protect."
