My thoughts on the book;

Not read by me, but this was either bought as part of a bulk-buy "10 for £1" offer at a "withdrawn" books sale at Chelmsford Library, or as part of a bulk-buy "two books for 50p" charity shop deal, or left at our staff canteen along with other books people had finished with; or has been "donated" to the BookCrossing cause (or "your Book Travelling-thingy", as he calls it) by my dear Father.

The attached journal image should give you an idea which one of those sources this book came from. ;-)

Below review / text taken from; http://www.amazon.co.uk/This-Book-Will-Save-Your/dp/1862079331/;

"Short listed for the Richard & Judy Book Club 2007. An uplifting story set in Los Angeles about one man's effort to bring himself back to life. Richard is a modern day everyman; a middle-aged divorcee trading stocks out of his home. He has done such a good job getting his life under control that he needs no one. His life has slowed almost to a standstill, until two incidents conspire to hurl him back into the world. One day he wakes up with a knotty cramp in his back, which rapidly develops into an all-consuming pain. At the same time a wide sinkhole appears outside his living room window, threatening the foundations of his house.

A vivid novel about compassion and transformation, "This Book Will Save Your Life" reveals what can happen if you are willing to open up to the world around you. Since her debut in 1989, A.M. Homes has been among the boldest and most original voices of her generation, acclaimed for the psychological accuracy and unnerving emotional intensity of her storytelling. Her keen ability to explore how extraordinary the ordinary can be is at the heart of her touching and funny new novel, her first in six years.

About the Author;

AM Homes is the author of four novels - In a Country of Mothers, The End of Alice, Music for Torching, and Jack - and two collections of short stories, The Safety of Objects and the recent highly acclaimed Things You Should Know. She is a contributing editor to Vanity Fair and teaches in the writing programme at Columbia University. She lives in New York City."

I'll be leaving this book on one of the benches in Central Park, Chelmsford, Essex.

It will most likely be on one of the two I've circled in the attached journal image, nearest the entrance / exit to the "Marks and Spencer" store, but sometimes there's picnic tables set up on the grass I might use. Depending on how busy the park is, I might have to walk through and drop it on another unoccupied bench, so check those too. ;-)

The attached journal image shows the park using Google "Street View" and you can view its location on Google Maps using the link below;

It'll have a yellow "PICK ME UP" note stuck on its front, featuring an all new random free gift, and be in a clear plastic bag.
