Journal Entry 1 by Ardy from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania USA on Sunday, September 21, 2003
This is the 2nd in a series of books about a series of unfortunate events that befall Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire. It's the first book in the series by Lemony Snicket that I have read. I wouldn't have known to pick it up if it were not for BookCrossing. I found this book quite amusing. It seems to be the sort of thing that an 8, 9 or 10 year old will enjoy. The adults are rather doltish and it's frustrating that they do not listen to the children, who have "it" figured out way ahead of them. I enjoyed this book and I expect its target audience will too. This book is off to Mo-booklover. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Journal Entry 4 by may-eve from Portland, Oregon USA on Sunday, August 08, 2004
Got this in a trade with mo-booklover, and will pass it on to my son. 8/18/04: My son, who turned 13 last month, enjoyed this and wants to read more, even though this is far below his reading level (he read the Lord of the Ring trilogy summer before last).
