Saw this on the sale table at B&N - picked it up cause I know lots of BXers love cats, me included.

James Herriott was a vet in Yorkshire, England for over 50 years. He's written 9 children's books, and this is his 9th book for adults (starting with All Creatures Great and Small).

11/10 - Just finished this. Enjoyable stories from a well-loved vet. Some of the stories are a bit sad, due to the nature of his work. Lovely illustrations too.

These stories were just delightful. I have a small warning for the rest of you in this ray - do not read the story of Frisk or the last story of Olly and Ginny in a public place.

Will send out to FifthElement tomorrow.

Journal Entry 16 by lostbookisland on Wednesday, August 31, 2005
This book seems to have been the victim of international post. A trip that was supposed to take only a few months has now lasted for 11 months.

Since this book has not been heard from in so long it has been invited to the Lost Book Island until it gets rescued from its shipwreck by a journal entry that will tell us just where this book has turned up.

The staff at the Lost Book Island are aware that the cats are not interested much in the beach and the surf but we have reserved all of our largest window sills so that they may spend their time in a favorite napping spot.
