Dies ist ein zweites Exemplar meines Erstlingsromans für meinen Bookring in Frankreich und andere europäische Länder ausser Deutschland und der Schweiz, denn dort läuft schon ein Ring. Journaleinträge können gerne auf Deutsch, Französisch oder Englisch gemacht werden. Bitte kein Griechisch, die Sprache kann ich leider überhaupt nicht.

Die Hauptthemen dieses Romans sind: Toleranz, Interreligiosität, Christentum, Islam, Leben im Rhythmus der Natur, Frauenmigration, Zwangsprostitution.

Er spielt in den 80er Jahren und erzählt die tragisch berührende Begegnung einer jungen Marokkanerin mit drei Brüdern in der Einsamkeit der Schweizer Bergwelt, auf dem Brünig und im Tal in Lungern, aber auch in Luzern und in Zürich. Das Leben im Rhythmus der Natur, die sprachlichen, kulturellen und religiösen Grenzen sind die Eckpfeiler dieser aussergewöhnlich eindrücklichen Liebesgeschichte, die mit ihrer dramatischen Dichte in abgeschiedener Alpenwelt an den Schweizer Film „Höhenfeuer“ erinnert und den Leser mit ihrer raffinierten Doppelperspektive vom ersten bis zum letzten Satz fesselt.

Roman poignant, à l'intensité dramatique bouleversante.
Anja Siouda situe le drame de ses personnages dans le milieu fermé et isolé des alpages reculés de la Suisse allemande et pour accéder à la modeste ferme des trois frères célibataires : Otto, Ernst et Martin, le chemin est rude
et empierré, tout comme leur solitude et leurs déboires, jusqu'au moment où Martin rencontre une jeune femme d'origine etrangère, pour s'occuper du ménage et des repas.Mais celle-ci est elle aussi victime d'un destin tragique, qui l'exile de nouveau, dans un environnement hostile à la communication, d'autant qu'elle ne connaît que quelques mots d'allemand et qu'elle doit cacher le
lourd passé qui la hante ainsi que la pratique d'une autre religion ( l'Islam ).Halima évoluera entre mystère et non-dit...jusqu'à l'angoisse.
Au fil des jours, la tragédie sentimentale va succéder à la mort d'Otto et de Ernst
car les moments de bonheur entre Martin et Halima seront éphémères et la fatalité saccagera leur couple et le fruit de leur amour ...

livre reçu hier d'orchidée. J'ai lu les premières pages et on entre vite et bien dans l'histoire.

J'ai beaucoup aimé ce roman. J'espère que les lecteurs suivants l'apprécieront aussi.

Très belle histoire. On ressent bien l'atmosphère. Dommage que tout soit aussi noir, que la mort soit omniprésente.

When I registered for this book, the idea was that I wanted to improve my German. Frankly speaking, I had no idea which surprise was in stock for me. ...
I really liked this book, even when the theme was not always a happy one. As a reader who is more familiar with Judaism than with Islam, I could still identify with Halima's struggle to stick to her way of life. The way the two perspectives were presented, worked very well for me. In fact, I think the book should be translated into Dutch!
I will contact the next one on the list - who happens to live very nearby.

It started of well, with meeting Mopperhond who brought me this book fysically :-)

Well, in the end, I'm too shy to write in German, but the reading was easy enough and it was probably very good as an exercise.
It's difficult to write about the book / to review it ,without giving away the plot to the next reader. So ... I'll write some general findings.
The language is beautiful. Not over, nor understyled. I can't write German, but I've read enough of it , to be able to judge this :)
It makes me wonder, also given your 'exotic' last name, how much of it is autobiographical. Maybe not as something that happened to you directly, but I do wonder : how much 'halima' is there in Anja :) ? Or in the translator at the end ? :)
The story is 'unexpected'. As written here before ... I did not know what kind of book I signed up for, and you surprised me too :)
It is realistic though. I travelled to a Swiss Alp whenever I opened it and neither naive Martin nor Halima felt like impossible strangers to me.
There is quite some sadness in the story. I am an avid romance reader :) (better to admit it) and I did not see the cloud's silver lining in your book :) so I'm not really for the genre :)
It 's very well written. Congratulations ! If you'd ever translated it into Dutch (need a translator ? ;))) or English , I'd certainly recommend it to my friends !

I'm glad you liked the novel and my writing style though it is extremely sad, you're right.
For me, this first novel couldn't have ended in another way. It had to be like this.
I wanted to show how much tolerance is necessary in an interreligious relationsship, on both sides or at least on one side.... Otherwise, there's simply no future, no future for a happy family. My protagonists keep hold on their religious dogmas (but also endure social pressure (Halima)!), and that's why there's no commun future.
You're right, I'm kind of the translator in the last sentence of the novel. That's really me.
But I also share some thoughts with Halima, of course, though her horrible story is, fortunately, not mine at all!

Of course I'd be very happy it the novel was translated in another language, French, English, Italian or ... even Dutch, but well, but if you want to be noticed by foreign editors, you must be extremely well known...

By the way, the setting, the place on the Alp, is autobiographic, yes. My parents bought that small place up there in the 70ties and later, when my parents divorced, my father lived up there for 10 years. I spent all my weekends up there and was very happy in the "savage" nature. My father had dairy sheep, no goats, but I always felt as if I was Heidi and my father the "Alpöhi", Heidi's grandfather... (I suppose you know this typical Swiss Story).

Dieses Buch ist gut angekommen. Muss leider warten, Ich lese gerade ein Englisches Buch, und zwei Sprachen hinter einander geht bei mir leider nicht gut.
Ich meldde mich wieder.

Das Buch hat mir sehr gut gefallen und habe mich gewunderd dass ich es ohne Problemen lesen konnte. Zwar langsamer als sonst aber in 4 Tagen.
Die Geschichte is schon und Ich mochte die Person von Halima sehr, ich fand sie sehr mutig.
Das Ende fand ich sehr traurig, wenn alle Menschen sich unter einander besser verstehen wollten und konnten hatte so etwas nicht passieren konnen .
Sehr viel dank fur dieses Buch und werde die nachtste Leser schreiben.

Ich habe mich eingeschrieben für diesen Ring, weil ich sehr neugierig war. Was ist mit dem Titel, ist er úbertraglich, oder vielleicht auch nicht.

Dieses Buch habe ich mit vielem Vergnügen gelesen. Obwohl, Vergnügen... nein, das ist nicht das richtige Wort. Dieses Buch hat mich verstrickt, ich konnte es kaum beiseite legen. Ich war wirklich gespannt wie die Verhältnisse sich entwickeln würden, was passieren wurde. Irgendwie folgen die Ereignisse logisch auf einander, fast als ob es nicht zu vermeiden is was passiert. Es fühlt nich als wären Szenen an den Haaren herbeigeholt: nicht zu viel 'geredet' aber auch nicht zu wenig. Obwohl das ganze Buch sich eigentlich auf einem kleinen Stück Land abspielt, langweilt es nie.

Es tut mir leid das es nicht besser ausgepackt hat für alle (es fühlt als wären sie richtige Menschen). Es ist ein sehr trauriges Buch, aber ich bin froh dass ich es gelesen habe.

Une famille entière décimée, touchée par le mauvais sort (accidents et alcool) . Après la barrière de la langue Française-Allemande-Marocaine et de la religion catholique-musulmane, quelques rares moments de bonheur intenses dans cette ferme totalement coupée du monde . La description est parfaite et idyllique, surtout en hiver avec les 2 mètres de neige . Martin, Halima et leur fils Ismael aurait mérité une longue vie heureuse...

Je renvoie le livre fin de semaine à Orchidée :)

merci beaucoup pour ton commentaire positif! Cela me fait plaisir que le roman t'ait plu malgré son côté dramatique. Il est vrai que dans la nature, le bonheur et l'idylle sont par moments possibles... mais les protagonistes sont rattrapés par leur parcours de vie. Personnellement, je suis très attachée à cette nature alpestre que j'ai vécue intensément dans mon enfance (voir commentaire 12 de ce ray).
