I must have been expecting too much from this book, for although I did find some parts funny and some home truths, I found quite a bit of it to be mean-spirited and manipulative and at times even boring.

Perhaps my tongue wasn't placed firmly enough in my cheek.

This went to cestmoi today at a gathering that the Sweet Potato Queens would have been proud of.

Caught this book at our mini-meet up at Lee's Villa yesterday. So much fun and laughs...and FOOD! - which I guess is why this book was so appropriate :)
Will read again, journal and pass along to one of the group.

Thanks Sue!

Like Sue said, some funny parts - but not 213 pages worth. This had been hyped alot so I was expecting alot more, I think.

I can't remember who wanted this one, but its travelling from Toronto to Moncton with me, then Moncton to Fredericton with MissQ to it's new home.

Hope whoever gets it enjoys it more than Sue and I did!

MissQ gave this to me last night, during our famous book club. I've heard lots about this book, and it sounds like the perfect book to read during the holidays. Light and funny!

Well, as everyone before me mentioned, I expected this to be much funnier. It was funny in some parts, but there were a lot of things I disagreed with (i.e., the Five Men you need in your life). The recipes she mentions towards the end sounded divine though. As I was reading it, my mouth was watering!

Good thing it was only a couple hundred pages. I won't be reading the other books in the series.
