A Small Death in Lisbon

I liked this book in spite of the descriptions of rape and brutal killings. There were a lot of twists and turns. Part of the story is set in 1999 Lisbon following the investigation of the murder of a teen girl. The other thread goes back to the neutral Portugal of WWII under the dictatorship of Salazar as agents of the Allies and the Axis compete for a strategic resource, wolfram (tungsten). I found the historic fiction in this part of the storyline interesting.
Wilson has the ability to describe a setting succinctly and lyrically.
