The story is narrated by Rod, a fifteen year old boy, but unfortunately he sounds like a middle aged woman. The main thing the story has going for it, is that it captures a snapshot in time, the 1970s. “Gay” times, smoking on aeroplanes, fashions, sexism, etc. Rod (15 yrs) is allowed to travel alone across two countries, but his sister Dinah (19 yrs), has to be accompanied when she goes to the airport to meet someone. Gees!
The doctor on the aeroplane flight from London to Australia has his medical bag with him and he is able to supply a “strong sedative” and an anti-tetanus shot mid-flight. Just what all doctors take with them when traveling overseas for a conference or holiday. Lose a star for that nonsense.

2011 Keep Them Moving Challenge
26/12/2011 (6pm): The book was still there and it didn't appear to have moved, so I rescued it and will find another place to leave it. Besides the sky is darkening; it looks like rain and the book was in the open.
To the finder, enjoy, and I hope you will write a journal entry so that previous readers will know that this book has been found (even anonymously). It is always a joy to find where it has gone. Once you've read this book, pass it on to a friend, or set it out "in the wild" for someone else to find as you did.
You can remain anonymous but if you are interested in joining please consider using - Goldenwattle as your referrer.
When you pass this book along, please make a release note to let others know where you left it. Thank you.
