January's Paradigm by J. Conrad Guest, a novel about coming to terms with marital infidelity from the male perspective, is now available through BookSurge.com and HalfBay.com “Men aren’t often perceived as victims of infidelity,” says J. Conrad Guest, author of just published novel January’s Paradigm. “Society is up in arms about men abusing women, but suggest that a woman can be abusive or manipulative in a relationship, and society turns a deaf ear.”

Guest’s new book, published by GreatUnpublished and available at www.booksurge.com and www.halfbay.com for $14.99, makes astute observations of society and the relationships between men and women. January’s Paradigm is a study of human nature, and breaks new ground by relating the effects of marital infidelity from the male perspective

Guest builds the story around Robert Porter, a fictional character/author who is enjoying the fruits of success from a best selling novel. But Porter’s world comes crashing down when he discovers his wife’s infidelity, and the only man who can save him from the morass of grief is Joe January, the protagonist in Porter’s best selling book, a fast talking, indignant Humphrey Bogart type private investigator, circa 1947.

Why the critics are reading January's Paradigm:

Current Entertainment Monthly, Ann Arbor, Michigan, writes: "J. Conrad Guest has taken the heartbreak of sexual betrayal and turned it into a romance-fantasy in which all of the wronged spouse's dreams come true. Time travel — both forward and back — figure prominently, giving the novel a bit of science fiction flavor and more than a little intrigue. Readers will not be able to put it down."

A resident of Northville, Michigan, Guest recently completed his second novel, One Hot January.

There it is... a book in the wild... "January's Paradigm."

Over a cuppa joe at the brand new Water Street Coffee Joint on Oakland Drive, I open the book to read...

"I stepped out of the dark, smoky habitat of Earl's Place. My need was great. I adjusted the collar of my trench coat, thumbed the drooping brim of my fedora, and drew in a lungful of the damp, cool night air that permeated Greenwich Village. I glanced at my watch. Good, I thought. Still time to make it to The Electric Banana and score...."

Hmmm. One arched eyebrow raised, not quite sure if this grits my teeth or seduces my attention, or both, but I throw a buck on the table for my cuppa joe, reapply my lipstick in the glint of the oversized night blue cup, step out of the dusky interior of the Coffee Joint, glance at my watch, and head home to read this book and find out if it scores with me.

I'll let you know...
