Recently read MacBride's first fiction novel and really enjoyed it. Remembered there had been a few going at the meet so was pleased to find this and another one still on the shelf!

This is the third book of the DS McRae series. Having read the first two in a fairly short timespan I felt a bit of character fatigue with this one: Fatty Insch and his sweets, Steel with her bad hair days and fags; good cop Laz McRae trying to please everyone...

The plot was ok but the humour which I enjoyed so much in the first book was missing.
