backcover text:
"If I might make a suggestion,Your Majesty," said the Lord High Chamberlain nervously, "Suppose we hired a dragon t-to lay waste the countryside? We might then imprison Her Royal Highness in a tower and send out a proclamation to say that any prince who slew the dragon should be rewarded by the Princess's hand in marriage. I venture to think, Your Majesty," said the Lord High Chamberlain more nervously than ever, "that this might have the ... er .. desired effect."
At Her Royal Highness the Princess Amethyst Alexandra Augusta Araminta Adelaide Aurelia Anne's christening party, her bad-tempered fairy godmother, Crustacea, gave the baby a curious gift. "You shall be Ordinary!" cried Crustacea. And young Princess Amy was certainly oridnary: mousy hair, a snub nose and freckles. She didn't look like a real princess at all. And not a single prince wanted to marry her.
The King and Queen were at their wits' end. The Lord High Chamberlain came up with desperate measures ...
But the Ordinary Princess had plans ofher own.

One of my favourite books. A story which really goes thru your heart!

I already have a German translation travelling as a ring and want now also to offer the English original as international ring.

At the end it shall be send to a NGO in Philippines, for whom I worked as volunteer (and surely will work in the future again). They are building up a community center with a library (more info) on a small island called Tablas, for which this book shall be donated.

The book arrived in my mailbox today. Thank you.
I had to search a little, as one digit is missing in the BCID written into the book.

Journal Entry 5 by wingUrfinwing at Friedrichshain, Berlin Germany on Monday, May 21, 2012
During the weekend I started with the book, and today I finished. (The last pages I read aloud to my son, although of course he cannot understand any of it just yet;)

When I discover a fairy tale plot in a movie or book, I'm usually not pleased...
but this IS a fairy tale :o) so it's quite alright that way,
and also that I was quite touched by it ;o)

Thank you, katopua, for sharing.
