Used Book Stores

Maybe people can be made aware of BookCrossing through used book stores. All of the used book stores that I know of are small and locally owned. But, maybe they can have a sign or poster about BookCrossing---or they can give bookmarks to their customers. It also seems that B&N would also be a good company to work with to spread the word! They own many other smaller bookstores (such as B. Dalton) and the article about BookCrossing was in their magazine! Maybe they can distribute bookmarks to their customers. B&N has also started e-mail newsletters for Romance, Mystery, and SF/Horror/Fantasy books--maybe a newsletter can include a link to this website. Just some ideas!

Just a quick clarification, Barnes & Noble does not publish BOOK magazine, and probably has little control over its editorial content.

You're probably right about B&N having little to no control over the editorial content of "Book" magazine. But, they do have a VERY close relationship. I work at B. Dalton Booksellers (part of B&N) here in Albuquerque, and up until the end of February of this year, whenever anyone purchased a Reader's Advantage Discount card, they received a 1 year subscription to "Book" magazine for free. Also, "Book" magazine has a website at bookmagazine.com. Maybe there can be a link on that website to bookcrossing.com?! Just ideas---we'll keep spreading the word through message postings and e-mail!
