New blog & bookcrossing

I have got a renewed passion of all things books since World Book Night, which introduced me to BookCrossing and now I'm hooked.
I've started a blog to do with my two passions, books and travelling. I'd be pleased if any of you would like to read my ramblings, and would appreciate any suggestions or tips for those who do a lot of blogging.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I thought "Enthusiast" now described me!

thanks for this, I love reading other people's blogs (especially those about books).
I've been blogging for a little while now and I'm just beginning to become a really active blogger. I love joining in with memes and doing reviews of the books I've read

Ooh I am loving doing my blogging now. Just about got my site the way I want it, but still not sure of all the jargon, like Meme...... Abigail Ann, what is your blogsite address?

My blog address is http://abigailannreading.blogspot.com/ Do pop on over, would love to see you there.
Nobodies ever explained what a meme is to me, but I've picked it up in passing. They (or at least the ones I do) answering a post with a question or theme and leaving a link to your site for others to follow. They usually happen once a week.

Thanks!
I've been promoting bookcrossing today on my blog! I've posted what books I've released into the wild. Maybe it will generate some new bookcrossers, who knows. I've posted it to my twitter account too.

I saw, some good promotion there :)

In its most basic form, an Internet meme is simply an idea that is propagated through the World Wide Web. This idea may take the form of a hyperlink, video, picture, website, hashtag, or even just a word or phrase. This meme may spread from person to person via social networks, blogs, direct email, news sources, and other web-based services usually becoming viral.

An Internet meme may stay the same or may evolve over time, by chance or through commentary, imitations, parody, or even by collecting news accounts about itself. Internet memes can evolve and spread extremely rapidly, sometimes reaching world-wide popularity and vanishing all in a few days. They are spread organically, voluntarily, and peer-to-peer, rather than by predetermined or automated means.

Their rapid growth and impact has caught the attention of both researchers and industry. Academically, researchers model how they evolve and predict which memes will survive and spread throughout the Web. Commercially, they are now actively used in viral marketing, seen as a free form of mass advertising. The Internet community itself has cultivated methods to encourage the generation and popularization of successful memes (examples: TED Talks, digg, hashtags).
The term "meme" was coined by Richard Dawkins in his 1976 popular science bestseller, The Selfish Gene.

I am trying to encourage people to be followers on my blog, which is something new for me and a hobby that is becoming addictive.
I am running a competition on there for people who can get me 5 followers and for them to remain until the end of May. I am giving away the first in the Stieg Larsson trilogy. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
Please head over to my blog and have a look. Thanks!

I personally love the Hunger Games Trilogy, and thought they were some of the most well written books I have ever read. I encourage people of all ages to read these books.

This book is amazing!!!!!

It has action, family, and a ever burning hostility towards a cruel dictator(President Snow) who has provided the people of Panem with nothing and have caused them so much pain and misery no wonder why the country rebelled.

I am trying to work my way up to eventually finishing a book a day for a year. My first step is my blog of book reviews http://fuzzmom.blogspot.com/
I'm starting out with 100 book in a year. I hope to do better than that, but I'm commited to doing at least that. I never thought I would be blogging, but that's where I am. I'll very much enjoy reading the ones listed in this thread!
I got started when a publisher invited me to join an advance readers group, so many of the books I'm reviewing are not released yet, which is kinda fun too.
