Are there any active Bookcrossers who are currently in Malaysia or China at all?

I'm a Malaysian, who is currently in China. I was wondering if I'd be able to find any active fellow bookcrossers in these two countries. It would be nice to be able to organise some activities if there were.

...the "Books & People" tab. While it won't show you who's currently active, it will list members in specific countries in order of books-registered, and you can click on their bookshelves to see if they've done anything recently.

And you could post a note in the Conventions and Meetings forum to ask about any ongoing get-togethers or to propose some of your own - though many BCers may not check the forums often, if at all. [If there's a local newspaper or bulletin board that you could use to announce a get-together, you could try setting up your own BC meetup, inviting existing BCers as well as anyone who's interested in the concept and wants to talk about books...]

You might want to search for Malaysian Bookcrossers on Yahoo! Groups and on Facebook - on a bit of a hiatus at the moment, but you'll be welcomed all the same :D

http://bookcrossing.com/newscontent/574, and I remember it made me hunt around re activity there. Somehow, I found a blog that had a whole lot of BookCrossing activity recorded in it -- unfortunately, I don't remember where, but maybe on Live Journal? You could post in the BookCrossing group there as well to inquire. http://community.livejournal.com/bookcrossing/

I know the mall in question - I live near it, it's like a corner of the place.

I also blogged about it some time back - http://lifeasacynic.blogspot.com/---/official-bookcrossing-zone-in-1-utama.html

Do a search under member search for the areas you're interested in. You can look at the number of books registered etc on that list and click through to a profile to see if they have been releasing lately or if they have any "local" BookCrossing websites or meetup info listed on their profile.

RE: China here

I should add - I've just translated some book labels into Chinese. Here's the translation:

(simplified characters)
我是一本很特别的书。我在世界各地旅游,认识新朋友。我希望和你交朋友。请上http://www.bookcrossing.com 找我。输入我的ID 号码__________________。然后你就会知道我去了哪里,和谁读过我。其他人也知道我在你这理。

Oh man, I wish I had seen this two days ago! I just released some books here in Taiwan and the translated label could have been helpful.

Oh well; thanks for doing it and I'll be sure to use it in the future!
