"Without books the development of civilization would have been impossible. They are the engines of change, windows on the world, "Lighthouses" as the poet said "erected in the sea of time." They are companions, teachers, magicians, bankers of the treasures
of the mind, Books are humanity in print."
Gridlock traffic, very angry upset travellers, train delays and everyone else told not to journey unless it is absolutely necessary. I don't think attemping to battle these conditions just to release a book is high priority at the moment.
Then I didn't disappoint. I am in London and have a more realistic understanding of the weather conditions. I have at least two friends who were stuck in snow for several hours and ended up sleeping on the floor at a hotel. Took them 12 hours to do what is normally a two hour journey. Another friend took an hour to travel a distance I can walk in less than 10 minutes. The authorities were issuing warning not to travel unless you really had to. I for one am not dashing out in dangerous conditions just to release a book.
