"There is no mistaking a real book when one meets it. It is like falling in love, and like that colossal adventure it is an experience of great social import. Even as the tranced swain, the booklover yearns to tell others of his bliss. He writes letters
about it, adds it to the postscript of all manner of communications, intrudes it into telephone messages, and insists on his friends writing down the title of the find. Like the simple-hearted betrothed, once certain of his conquest, “I want you to love her,
too!” It is a jealous passion also. He feels a little indignant if he finds that any one else has discovered the book, too."
Don't forget to order your supplies for this year's International BookCrossing Day (April 21)! The last day to order them is March 25, because we'll need time to get them to you before the big day arrives. And this year's labels were designed by Azuki and they're great. So don't miss out, get your orders in while you can!
I got a book read in a day because I was stuck in the snow on the motorway for 7 hours.
Ouch! You have my fullest sympathy! Which motorway was that? We were supposed to be driving home from a short break near Grange over Sands yesterday, a trip involving crossing the Pennines. With the M62 and A66 closed, trouble on other possible routes and scary news reports of people stuck in cars and trains in various places, we decided to stay put. Fortunately for us, although maybe not for them, some people cancelled their bookings, so the hotel had a room come free for us. We got home safely this morning!
I'm so glad you did. I was in a bus on the M80. Fortunately I wasn't one of the people who had to stay there overnight. I left the office at 1.30pm and my complete commute took 9.5 hours. I got to the end of the street when the car got stuck so I walked the rest of the way. That was Wednesday and my car got home today thanks to 3 men who dug me out. This was definitely worse than 2010 for me.
Thanks to some very generous bookcrossers who sent me loads of birthday RABCK's, I thought I would be way over my total for the beginning of the year, but not actually that bad .... I managed to read lots in Feb as well as received lots :)
