The Hare with Amber Eyes

Has anyone read this? If so, what did you think? I love the book so far (have reached the end of the Paris section) and don't want it to end!

It is a work of non-fiction in which the author traces his family history by telling the tale of a collection of inherited netsuke (small Japanese carvings). The writing is simple, but elegant and lovely.

I never heard of it, but it sounds wonderful! I love netsuke, so I will look for this. Who is the author?

Edmund de Waal is the author.

Here is a link to his site. If you click on "Netsuke Gallery", you can see some of the carvings he writes about (the collection in total is about 264).

After I read this description yesterday I went to my library website to place a hold. It is obviously pretty popular because they have a bunch on order. Thanks for the recommendation.
