Unfortunately, adding regions/provinces is beyond the capabilities of the ordinary volunteer region managers - it is too high in the hierarchy, so to speak. We can only add cities and release zones like any other Bookcrosser can when they make release notes. Something like this will need to be referred to Support.
As for adding cities, nothing can be done until Metro Manila is added as a province. And, even then, you can do it yourself as you release books. As you progress through the release process, there will be an option to "add a city". It's quite easy to do and, as a local, you will be better positioned to check correct spelling etc. It's not something easily done by a foreigner with no local knowledge!
Just read this. (As a newbie to bookcrossing, I couldn't find my way back to these threads until now. :) )
Thanks for replying awaywithfairies. Yes, adding a city seems simple enough, but as you said, adding states/regions/provinces does not look as simple. So how does something like this get referred to Support? Are they still active?
Was thinking of putting up a bookcrossing zone (here in Metro Manila), and maybe encourage others to do the same. But without the existing region, I don't know how to get zones properly listed here. Are there alternative ways of going about it?
I actually tried that already a few weeks ago. Haven't heard from them. I guess I just have to be creative.
Thanks for taking time to reply to me, solittletime! :)
I didn't find your question in Support, but we don't seem to be able to add a province either. That's one step higher up in the hierarchy of the site, so we have to ask for it to be added and wait for the next update that would make it possible. It's not as easy as it sounds.
