Means the browns / dark purples :
~ browns AND dark purples (TWO colour releases)?
~ browns OR dark purples (ONE colour release)?
*lol* Sorry, but I'm a little bit confused about it now *hihi*

I think it is just one colour release. The squares are brown on the Monopoly gameboard but do look a bit purpley on the BC Board

actually this was a trivia question in the pub quiz a couple for weeks ago, made me think of you guys - turns out they used to be dark purple but are brown on modern board. Because I have two boards - an old one and a new one, i fed info from one into the gameboard design and another into my terminology! I#'m excellent at causing confusion, me :)

it's or. You're only collecting one colour! But there was some dispute about if that bit of board is brown or dark purple, so teams get to choose which theme to use

Left underground at Haymarket Metro Station, Newcastle Upon Tyne. Where better to find "love in the dark" than there?

Unfortunately I was unable to take a photo as hubbie has gone off for a week and taken my camera with him. How inconsiderate! ;)

The book is called The gates of paradise, and they must surley be a monumental monument. A monumental release like this could of course not be made like any ordinary release, so Team Racecar went abroad - to Finland, and the town Vasa! (Luckliy this i a part of Finland where swedish is spoken so hopefully the book will find a new owner who can read it).
The release was made on a statue (called travel fever in direct translation) ready to take of towards heaven (even if the statues aeroplane is somewhat smaller than the book).

Released at the new Regent Blood Donor Centre after I gave plasma today.

I didn't take any photos...They were closing up as i left and I didn't want to draw attention to myself. I think my phone was flat anyway!

Edit - OOPS! Fixed the link....It should work now :o)

The book is impossible to find. I suppose you made a mistake in your link (the BCID seems to be too high, doesn't it ?).
Could you update, please ?

seems to be working now - nice release and one of my favourite authors!

"...and as you travel the board during the game, you get to make an extra release when you pass Go."

I can't remember... Does that mean I can release another 'underground'. Or another 'brown-purple'? Or is it a free release?

I'm back at home now. A good time was had by all... Even the trip to the hospital in the ambulance was exciting. Fortunately my ankle was not seriously broken, just a little fractured. *sigh*

It's a free release. You choose whatever you want.

Hello everybody ! We are done for this turn.

First, we had to release a book "on the edge". Difficult for us to find something to make the difference... until I realized that, with a french accent as beautiful as mine, "edge" is the same word than "hedge". That's why we released a book on the edge of the hedge.
The book is "Ce que vivent les roses" of Mary Higgins Clark. The english title of the book is : "Let Me Call You Sweetheart". But if you really translate the french title in english, it is : "What roses live". Roses... Flowers... Exactly what you expect to find on the edge of a beautiful hedge (but perhaps more in spring than now...).
All the details of the book and the pictures are here : http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/11384401

Second, we had to collect the reds. We thought about all those very well-known reds : Staline, Lenin, Trotsky, Marx... But, as we couldn't find them, we just thought about the communist party. And there is a local section of the PCF (French Communist Party) in Vitry-sur-Seine, where I live. That's how we chose the location of the release.
For the book, we chose a RED book called "150 petites expériences de psychologie pour mieux comprendre nos semblables", which means "150 small psychology experiences to understand better our fellows". Just because when you want to be a good politician, you have to learn a bit of psychology.
All the details and pictures here : http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/11196895
NB And I wrote a star-shaped note ! (not red, because of the red book, but I wrote it with my red pen...).

We had to release a book for "Go." What better way to "go" somewhere than to go on a safari? Because this book is about boys catching black widow spiders, it was released at a nature center room where you can learn about insects and other animals.

Our turn this time was long, with three releases. We had Tables and Chairs, Collect the Browns, and Passing Go. Our first thought was Huh? And then, like heat lightening that presages cooler fall weather it became clear.

After a long hot summer of outdoor chores, everyone is looking forward to Fall. You can kick back then, and plan for next summer, such as how to make a more comfortable garden chair to collapse in after doing your weeding on a hot summer day. So we released Weekend Woodworking with Powertools (see picture in JE of uncomfortable current chair) http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/11389249 on an uncomfortable chair in a community garden. With that book in hand, next year's comfort would be assured.

As for cleaning up the garden this year at the end of the season, well that was left to Hit By A Farm http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/11389006 , thoughtfully left on the brown compost bins, which were filled with dried out and brown vegetation. Besides, the sheep on the cover of the book are cute, and distracts you from the real purpose of 'collecting the browns'. (See JE for picture)

And as our turn, and the day and the summer is coming to a close, we passed Go, and wended our way home by first stopping by the old outdoor pump where with the help of a book, the next person could learn how to clean up and make their very own soap with The Natural Soap Book http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/11389244

Team Battleship's release for turn 12 was at the Rainbow's End: a book about Kahalaopuna, the daughter of the wind and the rain of Manoa Valley, also known as Kaikawahine Anuenue, the rainbow maiden, was released in Kahala on a day when the weather was right for rainbows!

Well, we had grand plans for this but unfortunately I wasn't able to get to my planned location before the cut-off, so I will keep that up my sleeve for a future release...

Instead I thought that this dark and autumnal Monday morning meant my fellow commuters needed something to cheer them on their way, so I released this little book at my local train station at an ungodly hour. It's quite appropriate for commuters as it's all about changing jobs/changing your life. Hopefully someone will find it and it will make them happy!

Cooking with Onions
http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/8243896/

To be left near the outdoor market where they sell fruits and vegs and... onions!

What you can't see is that the little cookbook is shaped like an onion. My son is out now for the release... let's see if he remembers to take a picture in situ, otherwise I will post a picture I took earlier here at home, because the book is really cute.

ETA: No picture from the release, but I will put a link here with two photos. Let me know if it doesn't work, as it probably wont... everyone tells me how wonderful drop box is, but I can't figure out the links.

The city of Helsinki is not very old yet, neither is Finland as a country.
We released the book "Pilgrim's Rest" in the historical centre of town, where the new capital was installed during Russian rules.

Follow the North Star by Harriette De Jarnette
http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/11260833/

I had the day off work today so picked up my niece when she finished school for a BookCrossing adventure to release this book at the Planetarium! I'm not sure how I managed it but I *think* it was closed by the time we got there! I released the book on top of a display cabinet outside the entrance.
