Don't fire! It's not a war - just a game of some kind, down at the sports ground

Boot (dice roll 10)

Story

Here it is. Not quite the same as I send in because the picture thing does not work as well on a blog (at least not without spending too much time on it) but close enough.
Enjoy http://antara-booksandmore.blogspot.com/---/blue-blue-blue-bally-blue.html

You guys put such a lot of effort in this one...kudos! The idea of doing a release for all the blue streets/spots on the board for your blue release was an innovative and also very brave one! Oh, and I see your profile picture matches too...great job. :)

RE: RE: Story

Thanks :-) It just sort of came by itself and grew and grew :-)
However I think that all of you are doing great jobs. We really have collected some awesome releases here.

RE: Story

I love the releases where I get to see little bits of people's towns. :)

so what happens if we manage a healing trade with Top Hat? Do we then get to make a release? And if we don't, we just sit this round out??

If they let you trade, you can play the card and move yourselves to just visiting - which you can then complete as per usual (ie release a book themed to another team to steal a point). If not, well, you stay where you are until next turn. I'd try to set up a trade quickly - gives you longer to make your move!
But you just passed go, so either way you get to make a free release for that :)

We had 'three little pigs went to market' as our challenge and I just so happen to live near a deli called '...went to market' with a pig's behind as part of its logo. I left a traditional British cookbook there as I thought it would fit the customers.

(Assignment - Sportsground)

For as long as Bally can remember, ever since he was just a young book, the Detroit Tigers have been his favorite baseball team. He has a Tiger Jersey and a Tiger hat. He dreams of seeing his team in the World Series.

Suddenly...THIS year, as everyone knows, the Tigers are #1 in the Central Division starting in June and staying there. YES! They win the American League Division Series. They beat the Yankees! Now they play the Texas Rangers for the American League Championship Series and their chance at the World Series. Sadly, they lose.

In their honor, Bally decides (with Team Cannon's help) to release "Box Socials" by W.P. Kinsella. It is the story of how Truckbox Al McClintock almost got a tryout with the St. Louis Cardinals but instead bats against the Cleveland Indians Bob Feller.

The people in this book bring box lunches to the games. So we are also providing a box lunch for whoever finds this book, which includes a tuna fish and crackers kit, some fruit rollups, a pumpkin cookie and a Koolaid Burst to drink.

P.S. Cute picture of Bally wearing his jersey and hat with bat and ball in the JE.

Bally is rather dismay at the slow pace team Thimble is snailing through the game board. He really wants to help the Thimblans win, so he decides he has to go to school - casino school that is - to learn how to roll some good numbers.

So, he enrolled himself in the Introduction to Dice class. While there, he also signed up for How to Cheat in a Game, because those poor girls certainly don't know squat about it.

Like any good student, Bally is all prepared for school. However, either he's overexcited, or he is having a hangover (honestly his behavior has been quite troubling since he shared some drinks with the GoG at the UnCon...), for he didn't quite pack the right things. His book, Full House, isn't the poker instruction book he's supposed to order. And his dice... looks like the dots are a bit weird? Or could it be a divine message that 11 steps is where he is supposed to go, after all the wild things he did the last few rounds?

This is the school where the pic is taken:
http://www.casinodealersacademy.com/

and I am not making up about the dice class:

(but this school doesn't have a sign I can release by, so I picked the other one as release location)

What do you get, mixing power and water? Steam! Steam can be used for numerous things, transportation, running turbines, heating buildings, but the best of all is of course: opening letters. Steam has been the biggest invention of all. Look what it did to our relationships, our marriages, now we can open the letters send by our rivals, the mistresses of our spouses and read the secrets hidden to us all those times. So, for turn 12 'Crimson and steam' will be released with the envelopes. http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/10227287

From Egyptian Spring to Occupy Autumn,  freedom has been the theme of the year~~from tyrants, from corporate control, from political maneuverings, from economic chaos ......little wonder that Bally gravitated to OccupySaltLake to seek his freedom this week.   "Bushwhacked," a witty and scathing  account of GW's Presidency, goes a long way towards explaining how the US ended up in such a mess, and *why* the Occupiers are Occupying.

And given recent controversies and complaints during the last few moves,, the title is doubly apt.  In this case, I hope a picture IS worth a thousand words.

this boot is feeling a bit bashed-about, even by my computer. I did manage to get the above in to GoG yesterday, but the computer shut itself down while I was uploading pics....and obviously I never made it here :(
