for random alcohol fuelled violence on Saturday nights. Oh and having the largest female:male ratio on mainland UK.

;o)

hmmm, well the bookcrossing UnCon is *very* unlikely to help that ratio at all

that's not very specific to Nottingham though really... the Uk as a whole is pretty well know for it

The book is released in the world's northernmost city with over 1000 inhabitants. I hope that is high enough????

Low will follow!

at the Tower, how original ;)

I'm really gutted though... left the charger of my camera at my parents house when I was there. So couldn't take any pictures :(

Everyone knows that the Sheriff of Nottingham considered Robin Hood to be an OUTLAW, and that he and his band of merry men took refuge in SHERWOOD Forest.

That is why Bally and I traveled to SHERWOOD, MI to release the book "OUTLAWED" at the Robin Hood Inn. While there we raised a frosty mug of rootbeer to all who were able to attend the UK Unconvention. Hope you had a great time!

Glad to hear that...it was a fun thing to look for.

For turn ten, team moneybag made a different kind of tree. Pictures are here:
http://tinyurl.com/5r6n7t6

The book for count is 'Oranges are not the only fruit' by Jeanette Winterson. I took this book with me from holiday in Portugal and rally wanted to read it, but it was the only tree-themed book I had in collection, so I had to offer it for this challenge.

Sounds good, but the link isn't working.

Sorry, wrong setting. Now it should. :)

Wolfies?

come tell everyone about your nottingham release...

(they opted for an alcohol-fuelled gamehost theme following marko's comments...)

come tell everyone about your nottingham release...

Waiting until we upload the photo - it's always better with pictorial evidence, don't you think!?!

God no.
New Rule: points will be deducted for incriminating photographs of gamehosts. :P

RE: Wolfies?

Be patient my dear, this is and was a real Team Release :) I don't like to spoil until the "picture" is complete. :)

Profile Image
the "picture" is complete. :)

I am exceptionally worried about this... what are you planning?

Well, uploading the picture ofcourse...

that alone is bad enough. Any photoshopping will be severely punished ;)

Now, that's tempting... ;)

Aww no!

I completly missed the "every team is allowed to make a nottingham themed release this week".

:(

RE: Aww no!

you still have time - deadline isn't til tomorrow, 9pm...

As homage to our leader we released a (a la Nottingham) castle-themed book http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/10083944 , then we trundled past Go, dropping off one for the kids http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/10083875 and heading to the shops for our market release http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/6401969/

Now we're off for a well-earned rest....

We all managed to miss the Nottingham themed release. So in the last hours I raced around (on a bike this time) and released this book: http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/10178916

To celebrate the fact that we could release at a Castle or Palace, team Wolf went to the "Sandcastle Waterpark" in Blackpool. They released "The Virgin's Lover", which is about Queen Elizabeth I and so she is right at home in castles. http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/3575187/

While in Blackpool they also played minigolf, and went in a lazer maze - think of those lazers that are put about famous works of art that robbers get through by doing amazing backflips. The Lazer maze was brilliant and the wolfkiwi was the seventh fastest to get through it in the month of September.

From our point of view a perfect match. Imagine: late at night, suddenly out of nowhere, this book appeared aside my JDCoke. And there it was, the perfect match for our Nottingham-Release...

it's been too many late night's for Bally, and he was off to team Boot' cafe release

at a local Indian "cafe" - the famous Balwant Singh's dhaba...and now Bally's addicted!

Team Iron also went to a cafe this week

and managed a Nottingham-themed release from the southern US!

http://bcmonopoly.blogspot.com/---/not-ten-gham-and-nonsense.html
all the Nottingham themed releases :)

Nottingham Bonus Release Bonus Points go to:
Scottie-Dogs, for awesome crafting skills
Team Wolf for sacrificial releases and assorted bribery (namely cigarettes, alcohol and toy frogs)
And Team Boot, because I don't care what you all think that was effing hilarious

None of these releases or bonus points are on the team pages yet, I will do it all in one swoop tomorrow. Following an unexpectedly long journey home from my parent's house, I don't have time to finish tonight, which is why the turn-notes are being split into two (so that I can go to bed!)

Bonus Points:
Team Iron, a point to give to their AF sign up
Team Wheelbarrow for their latitude attitude
