I know I'm not feeling great today, (new hayfever tablets and an inability to read instructions to take just one a day!) but I really don't get ours.
Also I'm not sure if the rest of my team are still playing, I haven't heard from them in ages, I missed the last turn as I was moving, had interviews, reports to write and a whole bunch of other boring grown up stuff.

RE: ????

ah - i was just being exceptionally silly, sorry. You've landed on the Go square, which means a free release :)

It's a bit late in the game (a third of the way through already) for me to go out and find you new team-mates, but if anyone is lurking and wants in I guess there are spots up for grabs to fill in for missing team-mates (alternately if you have a couple of BC friends who you'd like to join as substitute team-mates you could invite them, katrinat)

edit to add - I'll Pm the people on my waiting list too, just in case anyone is still interested to join in :)

I've Pm'ed the first two, and will let you know if I hear back from them, or otherwise I'll keep working down the list :)

RE: ????

katrinat,
I think vekiki had a waiting list of people who wanted to play but were too late~~if your team members have stopped playing, maybe she could give you new mates~

davemurray101 :) welcome, I hope you enjoy playing

(i'm still looking for a third to complete the trio)

Uhh... no time to read and write a lot, we have to hurry to finish our release a week earlier... working on it :)

Playground!

Looking forward to going to the playground to have some fun. No boring grown up stuff is going to stand in my way :-)
I just hope the weather looks up one of these days I am not going to make a fun release in this pouring rain... Plus my friends probably won't come out to play in the rain :-).
Profile Image
ah, you could send some of that rain my way, we'd really appreciate it :) we had a very wet spring, which meant the grasses grew like crazy, now we've been 90s and 100s NO rain, all becomes tinder, and the wildfires have begun.....

It seems we're in a situation where the weather goes from one extreme to another with no middle ground. I just saw that Slave Lake which experienced a devastating fire last month is now undergoing floods.

I hope you get some rain but not too much! It would be nice if Utah was at its picturesque best in September when my (amateur photographer) husband and I plan to visit.

are you spending any time in SLC? Or heading straight down to Redrock country?

Right now our plans are to hit Redrock country, as you call it, from Colorado and go to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. But you never know; we don't make reservations (except we did make reservations in a campground in Fruit, CO for the Labour Day weekend because we know from previous years how hard it is to find a campsite then) so we can go where the weather is good and stay when the scenery is interesting.

Today we returned home and we had a flood in the kitchen! It comes from upstairs, the bathroom, but we cannot locate the source there. Since it is Sunday we have to wait until tomorrow :-(

Glad to. You can certainly have some. We were invited to a bbq yesterday and got absolutely soaked. The rains started within minutes and then it just poured. No fun! Looks good today though.

Thanks for sending :) we had a bit here, more to the south (Utah County has had some nice rains the past 2-3 days)...clouds today, but they blew by :( now Sunny and cloudess at least through the weekend. I'd love more, but hey, I'll gladly take a couple of cloudy days and a bit of soft rain!

Bummer your bbq was rained out :(

That website is great! Makes me want to visit.

I visited a light bulb museum once, in Istanbul. It was very enlightening.

if you like stuff like that, there is a great book called Bollocks to Alton Towers - about odd little mususms and day trip places (it features the pencil museum too!), very funny and soem great ideas for places to go

Actually we had planned that prachitulshan should do this release, the book was ready and a brilliant idea where to release it - and now she's come done with some viral fever! (Wishing you a speedy recovery!) So I jumped in at short notice. Just got back from releasing "Men are like chocolate" (in German) next to Hotel Notre Dame in Bruges, Belgium. Next to Hotel Notre Dame happens to be a chocolate shop.

After releasing the book and taking a few photos I walked away a few metres and watched... First a horse cart came - great, better picture! Then loads of people walked by, but ignored the book. A little group stood at the shop window for a while, blocking the view to the book. Little group walked on. No more book! I took up pursuit, then overtook them - Germans! And I picked up a few words... something about books, a very excited, happy voice... I watched for a while from a distance - and that grey-haired lady with the white shirt and black waistcoat didn't stop talking about the book, showing it to everyone in her group. She seemed so happy - I'm delighted. No idea if she'll ever journal it, but so what, watching her excitement was lovely.

And left Miffy the artist: http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/5075117

This book is published by Tate modern.
It was bought in our very own Miffy museum in Utrecht.
it was released in Meermanno Museum, the oldest bookmuseum in the world, so this release sponsored three museums.
As the book museum had a exhibition on pop-up books, we made a Ballycumber pop-upcard where the book is placed into:

Grrr pirates!

Hey there mateys,
got my pirate gear ready and due to the wonderful weather am going to see if I can walk somebody over plank :-)
Grrrr!
Profile Image
Wow that was fun. We released a pirate book on a pirate ship at the local playground and I even met a real pirate with lots of tatoos. I didn't have any pirate tatoos but I took my trusty Jack Sparrow hat :-).

released at the Church of Bookcrossing would be taken home and journalled by some good samaritan, but to no avail.
This book then, is still wandering, alone, somewhere in Auckland.

Here is ours: http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/9905882

I was planning to release it at a bouncy castle, but the event was called off because of rain.
Profile Image
some awesome releases :)
blog post is here; http://bcmonopoly.blogspot.com/---/high-five.html

Bonus Points to:
Team Cannon, for cannily guessing that gamehost is a sucker for anything involving pirates
Team Wolf, for excellent use of limited calendar days
Team Boot, because pigs may fly before Bally's freedom is taken away!
Team Money bag for amazing papercraft skills
Team Racecar, because gamehost's first release in her first monopoly game was on platform 9 3/4, and she got a bonus point for that too :)

outside the local museum in the Castle in Wijchen, http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/10007249
I took it with me to read on the train on the way to the meeting in Bruges, but when I realised it was about an artist, I thought I would release it at an art museum in Bruges. I went to the museum and saw some wonderful medieval art, but then I was in a rush to meet up with everyone else, and forgot to release it. Aaargh! Then when we were on the release walk, I could have released it at the Belgian Frites Museum (all about french fries / chips, which are a Belgian speciality, and the brunt of jokes by both the French and Dutch), but that didn't seem to be the right museum. Or at the Chocolate Museum, but my feet were hurting, and I didn't want to walk the extra 100 metres in the pouring rain to leave it outside and risk losing the rest of the group. Then I remembered that there's an archeological, historical and art museum in the castle in the village / town where I live, so that's where I left it. All's well that ends well.
