CLOSED Intl. OR even no postage!! :)) Shrinking VBB - Round 11

I have found that running a VBB helps me to reduce my TBR and pass on books I have already read too.

The idea is that you choose one or more books from the list and replace with one less book than the number you have chosen. So if you only want one book there is no requirement to replace at all.

When it is your turn I will PM you the current list for you to make your choices from. You let me know what you are taking and adding (or not, as the case may be) I update the list and so on. If you are unable to find a suitable book from the list I send then you can always choose another off my TBR or AVL shelf.

If you wish to join in or have any questions please post either on the forum or PM me.

All participants are welcome and are listed here:

It is still open for new participants as we have more books than people this time. Don't forget if you can't see something on the list you fancy there maybe something in my available or tbr shelves.

2. The Twins is all parcelled up and will be sent to keeta1 this week.

3. I am now reading the first of two books promised to bookworm-lady. : the Haunting of James Hastings. - wish this had come to the top of tbr sooner!

I am a hardened mystery and thriller reader and scary it could be. For me its a psychological thriller with twists, turns etc that kept me hooked and it pulled me in from the start! Will be starting The Others by James Herbert this week. I know what to expect with this one and hope I enjoy it as much. A parcel should be in the post in a week or so :-)

I’d like The Chocolate Run.

Thanks Diane

for The Twins, now safely ensconced on Mt TBR :)

Literally!! I dropped my latest read in the bath. Not all of it. It was still in my hand and I nodded off. It took ages to dry out though. I hope to finish reading it this weekend and then I can catch up with some other posting out of books at the same time as getting the two off to bookworm-lady.

I have the three books ready for mscar as I came across a world book night copy of When God was a rabbit in a charity shop. I will still be reading my copy but its going to be after the others in this VBB that were chosen. I believe Xmas Factor is the next one up.

Chocolate Run was ready for posting but in the mad clear up for Christmas I amnot sure where it was safely placed. Hope to find and post next week to catsalive.

Happy New Year ! Happy book crossing!

Thank you. That is sooner than expected. I appreciate your getting the books to me early, but won't buying another copy for me defeat the purpose of SHRINKING your book mounds? 8) In any case, I look forward to receiving and reading them.

Happy New Year ! Happy book crossing!

Well it would seem that way. However I am always on the lookout for WBN books to bookcross and still would have bought it. ifully intend to read my copy before I set up the next round of the shrinking vbb ;-)

can I still join?

Yes you can as I haven't closed it yet. Maybe I'll remember before the new round.

Its your turn. Let me know what you pick :-)

I was ready to start reading the Xmas Factor for bookwormess but I couldn't find it in my cupboard. So I have started Bare Bones instead. I had Xmas Faxctor right beside me just before I put the decs up at Christmas how it moved I can't recall.

Last night I decided to look through another wardrobe full of books and it led to me tidying up the cupboard too, after an hour I came across Xmas Factor!!! Yay! How on earth did it find its way to a far corner in such a short time??

Well at least it's found and hopefully won't grow legs again :)

All good in the end. :) I have all my books piled in five over 1 meter tall piles next to living room wall. Every time I'm looking for certain book it's on the bottom of a pile. That's for sure. And it's really hard to find something so I usually end up sitting on the floor in front of them for a while trying to catch the one I want.

But hey, we all knew our books have life of their own. ;)

Ann1244 has taken two of my books off the list which are already read and FinalsEnd has joined and will be making their choice soon.

So I am closing this round and I will start a new round in a few months. Please leave your books in for that round. I will contact those with books still in before the start of the next round as a reminder

Has chosen Prom Nights From Hell" by Cabot, Meyer, Harrison, Jaffe & Myracle http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/11888779

I have made several attempts to post all the books out with a little success.
My hubby usually helps out whilst I am working but he has been unable to due to one of lives downs. So I have tried the local shop/post office on a number of occasions at the weekend to find that no one is on the counter. So finally got there when someone was and they had run out of customs labels. Tried again today and they still have none! I know I can print them off but I wont go into what that entails for me ;-)

Anyhow things are finally settling down on the personal front and if hubby doesn't get chance to post them during the week I am going to a different post office on Saturday and possibly from now on!

Good news is all outstanding European parcels are finally on their way :-)

This parcel made me want to drop everything and start reading at once, I am sure I will enjoy:

"The Others", by James Herbert
http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/11690905/
(This one took a bath before travelling, how considerate! :)

AND

"The Haunting of James Hastings", by Christopher Ransom
http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/11472133/

I think I have "The Birthing House" somewhere, and never got round to reading it; if this one is as good as it seems, it will be next.

Diane-Fraser, you have made me very, very happy in stressful times! :)

for the three books: When will there be good news? by Kate Atkinson, The remains of the day by Kazuo Ishiguro and When God was a rabbit by Sarah Winman.

They arrived in perfect condition on a lovely spring day. The last two weeks have been hectic at work and the weather's been terrible. The parcel is a great mood lifter, though it will be a while before I can start reading them. Thank you for your generosity! 8)
