Depois de tanto tempo à procura dele finalmente encontrei-o...e está a ser uma valente desilusão... :(
Aconteceu-me o mesmo. Não desgostei, mas estava à espera de outra coisa. É o problema das expectativas... A minha opinião, de finais do ano passado:
"After so many years whishing for this book, because of the reviews about it, I had high expectations. That's probably why I didn't like it so much, at first. I felt that the book, at a certain point, is only a simple description of the rituals, the details of everyday life, the beliefs of the people of a small tribe. It's very interesting, as tribal life in an African country, but I wanted more information about the characters: the 3 wives of Okonkwo, their children, even his friends serve only as a background for the village life. Maybe that was the intention of the author, but I wanted more.
After the second part, when O. has to leave his village for a 7 year period, the plot gets more interesting, with the arrival of the white man and the consequences that arise, with the new religion versus the clan ancient beliefs.
In the whole it was an interesting reading, although not the master piece I was expecting. My bad, probably."
