[CLOSED / WINNERS DRAWN] Non-Fiction Sweepstakes - Round 5

I was the lucky winner of round 4 and received a mix of interesting books ranging from comedy via (auto)biography and history all the way to true crime (which I did make a point of mentioning as one of the non-fiction subgenres I read and... enjoy... if the word applies). I'm already halfway through the stack!

I've decided to start the new round of the non-fiction sweepstakes right away (and let the "recruiting process" run a bit; I guess many of you are already busy with HGG). Here are the rules, copy-pasted and edited a bit:

The idea of a non-fiction sweepstake was first discussed here: http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/529695

It has previously been agreed that the following is included in the term 'non-fiction' for the non-fiction sweepstakes:
-biographies and autobiographies
-science, social science, history etc: both fun and serious books. But the books should be interesting and understandable even for people that don't have a degree in a specific field.

You might state reading preferences if there are certain topics you're not interested in. Then we can try to avoid these. On the other hand, I think that part of the fun with a sweepstakes is to see the diversity of books that show up in the mailbox and maybe discover some new and interesting genres and topics.

Here are links to the previous rounds of this sweepstakes, if you'd like to have a look at the books that were sent:
Round 1: http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/532164
Round 2: http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/537780
Round 3:http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/542168
Round 4: http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/543697

The rules:

-To join, you will need at least one available non-fiction book and need to be able to post it internationally.
-Post here to say you're in AND send me a PM with your address (unless you want to play as a send-only).
-Feel free to state your reading preferences, as non-fiction is a pretty wide field.
-When there are enough participants, I will draw a winner and a decoy. I will then send you a PM with the address of the bookcrosser to whom you are supposed to send a book. Please do not post here about the identity of the winner (or decoy) or about which book you are sending in order not to spoil the surprise!
-If you are the winner (or the decoy), please post here when you receive books and share the joy.
-Some time during the next few months, the winner gets to host the next round.

Come on, I'd like to see you all back here... ;))

I'm in...

...as send only please.

I'm in. PM on the way.

I'm interested in quite a wide variety of books, including food, cultures, travel, history, nature, the English language, art history, self-help, etc.
Profile Image
I'm interested in non-fiction about different cultures and languages and books on astronomy, math and physics.
Profile Image
As you may already know, I am very keen on biographies... :)
Profile Image
Nice to see you back. And even with all the HGG and the other currently running sweeps, I hope we'll get a nice list of participants together. I know I enjoyed my win A LOT. This may be one of the most interesting sweeps ever.

I'm in again

as this is one of my favourite sweepstakes. I prefer not to receive self help or diet books.

Got your PM.
Profile Image
There are several non-fiction titles on my TBR to choose from! PM sent.
Profile Image
Hi and good to see you around here! :)

I've got a fun book to share. And if I'm the winner or decoy, I like almost any kind of nonfiction, but especially biographies and memoirs, books about politics and history, and book with a lot of approaches to a single topic, like the Mary Roach books.
Profile Image
And welcome to this sweeps. It's always nice to see new faces in here. Well, metaphorical faces. :))

I've put you on the list. :)

back onto page 1. :)
Profile Image
... I'm giving this at least another week. Anyone else interested?
Come on, you know you want to join!
Profile Image
I'll join in as well.

I enjoy (auto-)biographies and I am also very much into science and mathematics.
Profile Image
I didn't get your PM. Would you mind (re-)sending?
Profile Image
I put you on the list.
Profile Image
Adding a "closing soon" tag to the title. Last chance to sign up! Act now! ;))
Profile Image
Please notify me if you haven't received my PM.
I'll post my non-fiction book tomorrow after work.
Thanks for playing, everyone - and I hope I'll see you around next time! :)
Profile Image
Hoping the winner will like it
Profile Image
.. once I've read it! I had to wait for the draw to choose a suitable book ;)
Profile Image
I was going to send a book I translated. The publisher gave me the original book in English, but not long ago they asked me to send it back (this never happened before, usually the translator can keep it).
So, I just start reading another non-fiction for this sweeps, and it will take me about two weeks. OK, it's not a bit later... I'll send it as soon as I finish. Sorry for the delay.
Profile Image
Really, no rush! In a way it's more fun if they are spread out a bit anyway :)
Profile Image
containing:

Estates: an intimate history by Lynsey Hanley (thank you jo_an_a!)
and
La Prisonniere: twenty years in a desert jail, by Malika Oufkir (thank you sedna5213!)

How exciting!! I am still reading the book I want to send but it shouldn't be too long before it's on its way.

Nothing to be sorry about! It's not like I have any shortage of reading material..... ;) Hope you're having a great holiday!
Profile Image
Congrats on winning, and enjoy!! :)

For 'Brothel: Mustang Ranch and its women' - I certainly wasn't expecting to receive anything like this! :D - all the way from America

and

'No Full Stops in India', ten essays, especially interesting as I have been once and would like to go back...
Profile Image
For Life Below Stairs, about the lives of Edwardian servants - especially since this is an Edwardian house!

and

We Are The Ones We Have Been Waiting For, essays and meditations by Alice Walker.

Thanks for the lovely postcard too; looking forward to reading it. :)

Glad it's there - and that it's up your street! :) It was the closest to biography I could find on my shelves...
