Hi, earthworks1, and welcome! I'm not quite sure what you mean by "gay BookCrossing", but I do know that plenty of gay-themed books have been registered and released. You can browse the Book Talk forum for recommendations, which often turn up in the "what we're reading now" threads; and here are a couple of old threads that may be of interest:

http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/176678

http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/14088

For exchanging books: the Bookrings/rays/boxes forum ( http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/20 ) has included some LGTBQ+ bookboxes, and while I don't think there are any in progress now, I expect someone will start another one soon. [If you're interested in participating in bookboxes, you should register some qualifying books of your own so that the people organizing the bookboxes can see that you're prepared. You can read up on bookrings, rays, boxes, and other things in the site's Frequently Asked Questions page ( http://www.bookcrossing.com/faqs ), as well as in the Bookrings forum itself.]

If you're more interested in asking or offering trades of gay-themed books, the Random Acts forum ( http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/10 ) would be a good place. Again, it's helpful if you register a few of your own books so that people know what's available for trade.

It would also help if you edited your BC profile to show where you're located, as some folks are glad to mail books within their own countries but can't afford to send them internationally.

Hi GoryDetails Thanks foe replying. Gay themed books would be ok. I'm in the London area and look forward to hearing from someone in my area. earthworks.

There are many active BookCrossers in that area, and some regular meetups; looks like you just missed the August one ( http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/532859 ), but if you watch the forum or contact the originator you might be able to make the next one.

There's an "Unconvention" in Birmingham in September, too - more info here in case you're interested:

And if you haven't already done so, check out the "go hunting" pages showing recent releases in the greater London area:

http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/1558/

Many of those releases may no longer be where they were left, but others, especially those in Official BookCrossing Zones, Little Free Libraries, telephone-box swap-shelves, etc., may still be there.

I'm not involved with the London meetups, living as I do in the United States {wry grin}. As I suggested in my previous reply, you should keep an eye on the Conventions and Meetups forum for new announcements, or try contacting the person who posted the last announcement.
