Leticia Plate has her roots in different countries and cultures. After an early childhood spent in Buenos Aires, Argentina her family moved to Rome, Italy where she eventually attended The Istituto Grafico di Montecelio, studying printmaking and graphic design. Later on, she followed her true passion for drawing and illustration to New York City where she attended The School of Visual arts, receiving a BFA in illustration.
She has been a freelance illustrator since, working on a variety of illustration assignments including: editorial illustrations, books and design projects.
The essential qualities of her work are her expressive line quality and her strong conceptual solutions.
She now lives in Portland, Maine with her husband and 2 children. Some of her clients include: The New York Times, Boston Globe, Crown Publishers, Time Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The Chicago Tribune, American Health, Prentice-Hall and Philadelphia Inquirer.
