May, a Great Month for BookCrossing in Portugal

Two Major Events
by Marcenda
May 5, 2009
Two great BookCrossing events are taking place in Portugal. Needless to say, we're very excited about them.

First of all, our very first National Convention, is on May 9, in Ovar. Just one day, but what a day! A giant OBCZ, The Book Swimming Pool is being filled to the brim with books from all over the world. There will be discussions with Portuguese authors, a short story contest, an award ceremony, a poetry
session and loads of surprises. Check out the program over at http://convencaonacionalbc2009.blogspot.com/.

In Lisbon, the BookCrossing community will have a unique showcase during this year's bookfair, from April 30 to May 18. With the help of generous donations from BookCrossers
from all over the world, the BookCrossing/LEM stand will be filled with books in many languages, turning it into a crossroads for all cultures. On May 2nd there was a BookCrossing meet-up in front of our
stand and on May 7 we invite everyone to join our debate about BookCrossing. To top it all off, a massive release with the remaining books left in the stand will take place on Sunday, May 17, through the streets of Lisbon. If any BookCrossers are planning on visiting Lisbon between
April 30 and May 17, don’t forget to drop by the BookCrossing stand at the Lisbon Bookfair in Parque Eduardo VII and pay us a visit.
