BookCrossing-City-Fever!
"Literaturhaus" (~ literature-house) Rostock, Germany [1] and radiostation Lohro (local radio Rostock) [2] promoted BookCrossing in September, October 2006. First they collected over 400 books, which came from bookshops, members, citizens and more, and which were registered by the people of the "Litaraturhaus" [3] and released on October 4. In between, they also have "flooded" some schools with BookCrossing.
They also have contacted the German Support Site [4] to come up with the idea of "BookCrossing-City-Fever" as a project, so that maybe others, who will be informed through this project, will copy the idea. Now there is a project page (German only!) [5], to keep track of the cities in the German speaking region, which will be set in BookCrossing-Fever one day.
As already mentioned, October 4, 2006 was the big release day in Rostock, Germany. The local radiostation Lohro broadcasted that day how BookCrossing works, and people, who still had books to release, could come to the radiostation to register and get labels and flyers [6]. Also, people could phone the station, to tell where books were released and even better, when they had found a book!
On October 8, 2006, Radiostation Lohro reported again about BookCrossing, in their Literature-hour. This included also an Interview [7] with Wyando [8]. Furthermore it was told, that each Wednesday at 16:40, the radiostation will keep broadcasting about books releases and / or books found - if people in Rostock do a call to the station.
All in all, this project was a great succes and it seems, that Rostock starts to get known about BookCrossing [9].
Let's hope that this project will be copied :)

Zuerst haben sie über 400 Bücher -- gesponsort von lokale Buchhandlungen, Mitglieder, Burger, etc. -- gesammelt, die dann registriert [3] wurden und am 4. Oktober freigelassen. In der Zwischenzeit hat das Literaturhaus Rostock auch einige Schulen mit BookCrossing infiziert.
Sie hatten auch die Deutschsprachige Supportseite [4] kontaktiert, mit der Idee, das ganze als Projekt [5] aufzubauen, damit es ggf. Nachahmung finden kann.
Wie bereits erwähnt, fand am 4. Oktober der grosse Freilass-Tag statt. Der lokale Sender Radio Lohro berichtete über BookCrossing und jeder, der noch Bücher zum Freilassen hatte, konnte zum Sender kommen um die Bücher vor Ort zu registrieren und mit Etiketten zu versehen [6]. Gleichzeitig konnten die Hörer beim Sender anrufen, um Freilassplätze zu melden oder über gefundene Bücher zu reden.
Am 8, Oktober 2006, wurde nochmals über BookCrossing bei Radio Lohro in derer Literatursendung berichtet. Da gab es dann auch ein Interview [7] mit Wyando [8]. Auch wurde erzählt, dass Radio Lohro jeden Mittwoch um 16:40 weiter über freigelassene und gefundene Bücher berichten wird - soforn der Sender deswegen angerufen wird.
Ein großartiges Projekt, was da auf die Beine gestellt wurde, und es sieht danach aus, dass Rostock jetzt weiss, was BookCrossing ist [9].
Lassen wir hoffen, dass dieses Projekt viele Nachahmer findet :)
