The Thrill of Being Caught

Making it in the Wild

Oh to say goodbye!! It was sad and oh so bittersweet. I was letting it go... at a gas station no less. I felt torn, after all this was my first time and to simply leave such a loved one outside, alone, to face the elements. It was rough. Everyday I checked to see if anyone had found my 'orphan', I spent hours on the site waiting anxiously, hoping someone would find it and love it as much as I did.

Finally, the message came... someone had found my 'orphan' and had taken it home. Someone who was kind enough to make a journal entry to let me know my precious gift had been found and was once again in the hands of someone like me....a BOOK LOVER. Doctored Evidence by Michael Biehl was in a new home and from the sounds of it the person who found it would treat it well. A month later I saw that once again it had been released to find a new home and again was lovingly picked up by another book lover, there are so many of us out there. This time it was left and picked up at a bus station so maybe my 'orphan' will get to travel farther than my home town, and if not, farther than my small area of town.

It is enough for me to know that it is being passed along in the fashion that makes Bookcrossing the great idea and website that it is. I have released two other books but, alas, there are no entries made. Perhaps they are sitting in a nice warm home waiting to be read. I will keep waiting and watching.

Until then I will read and release more books into the wild where they can be loved by others and sent on their way, on a glorious trip through the hands of Book Lovers anywhere and everywhere. Reading the journal entries for my first release has inspired me to continue leaving my surprise books for others to find.
