This is a true story of the disappearance of a teenage girl in Coconut Grove, Florida, in 1974. The book was co-authored by her mother. My husband lived in the neighborhood at the time of her disappearance and knew some of the story. Years later I met Amy Billig's brother who lived just down the street from us and he was such as kind and gentle person that when I saw this book in a local bookstore I wanted to find out more about her disappearance. Sadly, she has never been found. It was presumed she was kidnapped by a motorcycle gang that was passing through town when she was on her way to have lunch with school friends. The story of her family's never-ending search is both fascinating and heart-breaking.
