Flynn does it again, creates a riveting story with incredibly disagreeable characters. Yeah, I was Team Amy on this one, even though she's uh, a little bit off.

Dark Places, Sharper Things, Gone Girl. This is my third Flynn book and I'll be interested to see what she comes up with next out of her poisonous imagination.
I lost some of the suspense of the story, having seen the movie first, but still a good read. As with the other Flynn books, I felt the characters and their motivation could have been filled out more. Her twisted characters remind me a bit of the low-lifes and nutcases in "A little friend" (Donna Tartt) but Tartt is a better writer. Flynn is an ex-Entertainment Tonight writer, so her strength is a fast suspenseful story. Entertaining!
Flynn wrote the screenplay for this book, and it's on NetFlix now, and there's more movies in the works, so she'll probably be too busy spending her residuals to write anymore.
I'm surprised (but not surprised) that my fellow book-crosser "VanBiohazard" is on team Amy. Will have to be careful not to cross VanB!
