​Tru​st centres around a Wall Street tycoon and his wife in 1920s New York​. Together they rise to the top in an age of excess and speculation​, becoming incredibly wealthy and successful throughout the boom and bust​ but then a novel is published that reveals a very different story about them. Whose version is real?

​Written in four parts the story is told by four different narrators with four competing narratives​. Which storyteller​ can ​be trust​ed and how ​do their individual motives shape their narrative​?

​I really wanted to like this book and I did make it to the end but found it really hard going. As someone who reads to relax I never want to feel a book is this much work.

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize 2023 and longlisted for the Booker Prize, the critics loved this book too but it was not for me.
