Raynor and her husband Moth walk from Sheigra in Northern Scotland to their home in Cornwall. This is their third hiking adventure and Raynor's third book writing about it. The first Book "The Salt Path" describes how they embark on the South West Coast Path after becoming homeless and without money. To add to the misery, Moth is diagnosed with a terminal illness. In "Landlines" Moth is not doing well at all, but it's a now or never moment and they feel that they have another walk to do.

In my opinion, the beginning of this book is a tad too repetitive but it picks up. Raynor writes well. I've walked a few of the trails and paths that they hike and it's nice to recognize and remember them.
