I got this softcover at Newbury Comics. (It's from the CLAMP Premium Edition re-issue of the original series.) As with most of CLAMP's works, there are crossover characters in other books, including X and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles.

This volume introduces young exorcist Subaru, his sister Hokuto, and their friend Seishirou - a veterinarian (who's also from a powerful mystic-powered family) who seems to enjoy flirting with Subaru, with Hokuto blithely encouraging this. The young people do a lot of bickering and teasing, and seem to be quite happy, even though Subaru sometimes has to deal with very tragic situations as he helps spirits to move on.

In one of the cases, Subaru and Seishirou both deal with the troubled spirit - and the differences in their viewpoints and empathy for others starts to become apparent. Foreboding, perhaps? And then there's the troubling incident under the cherry tree...

There are language and cultural notes up front and at the end of the volume, all quite helpful.

[There's a TV Tropes page on the series that's very entertaining, but do beware of spoilers.]

It's been awhile since I have read a CLAMP manga. This one had some fun supernatural elements as well as some foreboding ones. Thanks for sharing this Gorydetails
