This is the third book by Robert Macfarlane that I've read, and I keep reading them because the language is a treat and there is something pleasing about Macfarlane's writing style that forces a slow read that I rarely meet these days. However, he sometimes lingers on the line of being too pretentious.
This is a short and sweet essay. I suspect that the person I'm sending this one to has already read it, but I hope she hasn't.
