I saw this book had been wild-released recently in the Beaufort SC area, and stopped to pick it up on the way to Savannah today. My wife and I walked the 10km Savannah volksmarsch while there, but I didn't have time to look at the book until we got back home. Now that I see it, I think it will be interesting reading.

This is a collection of very short episodes (2-3 pages each) from the history of Savannah, Georgia, USA. It draws from events and personalities over the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries, although the vignettes are not in chronological or thematic order. The material of each is oriented towards curiosity, and is told in a tone of local boosterism. It’s just the sort of thing bought, read, and quickly forgotten by tourists – the same stories that are well known lore among the local population. Probably good for a resident transplant like me.

Released 1 wk ago (5/6/2024 UTC) at Troup Square in Savannah, Georgia USA

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I released this book outside, in a waterproof vinyl bookcrossing bag, on a park bench in Troup Square. It is outside the Unitarian Universalist Church of Savannah, which is sometimes known as the "Jingle Bells Church" - and the story is told in the book.
