The Black Box (Harry Bosch)

Received from a Bookmoocher today.
On the open-unsolved team, Harry Bosch lands a case that looks familiar. Twenty years before, assigned to a team during the L.A. Riots, Harry found a foreign journalist dead in an alley. It didn't make any sense then and it didn't 20 years later. Because resources could not be stretched to investigate every murder during the riots with full forensic teams, much was lost. Harry started his investigation by following the opportunistic possibilities, but then stumbled on a different connection.
As always, we are treated to glimpses of Los Angeles as well as more about Harry himself, including more detail on his tastes in jazz and his obvious love for his teenage daughter.
Excellent plotting and pacing and terrific characters.
