I think that of all my books, the ones by W.O. Mitchell are my sentimental favourite. And that's probably because I've had the pleasure of spending time with him on a few occasions. I once entertained him with a whole graduating class in my own home where he accepted and drank a "glass" of champagne. The glass was actually a footed fruit nappie because being a newly married young woman I didn't have near enough champagne glasses for thirty odd people. But a good time was had by all. This book is lovely. You'll both laugh and cry.

This book was returned to the LFL this winter. I had taken it out of circulation to make room for some new stock. It seems I never got around to giving it another shot in the LFL. So I'll give it a new adventure in this year's Canada Day Release Challenge.
