A simple, innocent, yet really charming and sophisticated children's book

This is a really charming children's book. The graphics are pleasant and cute, the layout looks very nice, and the poetry, while simple and straight, has a professional flavor. I recall reading and loving the Dr. Seuss books as a child, and Renee's poetry is quite different, not at all like his, yet the rhyming nature of this book gave me a sense of the same endearment that I felt as a child. I think it has that perfect sense to it, all the more impacting because of the simplicity of her poetry. Then when the book finishes a coloring book emerges; it would be quite fun for children. I highly recommend this book to anyone with small children, and I sense that Renee's whole collection of such books will be of the same quality level.

I particularly enjoyed the heartfelt dedication to the author's mother. I was fortunate to have read this book on Mother's Day. It is the perfect vehicle to help little ones understand the significance of the Mom in their lives.
The figures ready to color in the back of each of her books are a nice touch.
