At a period in my life when I am having great problems and great pains in my right knee and leg, (been told I need a knee replacement operation), and having to walk with a crutch, I was so overwhelmed with surprise and joy by a package of 5 wish list books which arrived yesterday! This being one of them. This cheered me up immensely!
Thank you so very much josierivers for your great gifts, including the lovely little Puerto Rican Flag pin and the spare teddybear BC label which is so cute!

Great story. So exciting! Even better than the other Akimbo book I read called Akimbo and the Elephants. This one is full of suspense! After tagging a mother crocodile and her newly born babies the previous day, Akimbo and John, the crocodile man. go to the river to check on the baby crocodiles. They then paddle out to a small island using an inflatable boat. Whilst Akimbo goes to explore the tiny island, John stays behind, but Akimbo hears John's cries of distress and runs back to see a crocodile attacking John. He manages to fight off the crocodile with the boat paddle, and then he ties his shirt tightly around John's leg to help stem the flow of blood from it. But the inflatable boat is punctured and John needs help, and they are stuck on an island. What happens next is really exciting.Great illustrations in this book.
