The book is slow but steady. A very poignant description of the lives of the "help" but doesn't do much to deconstruct the racism of that time and it also does describe what precipitates the first two maids to participate in the book. Most things were resolved in the end but I hated Mae Mobley being separated from Aibileen. Wish there was an epilogue 5 or 10 years later so we could see how it all turned out.
