Great book on orphanage life! This book reflects the experiences of the author in a Catholic orphanage on the northside of Chicago during the mid-40's to mid-50's. Especially interesting is the fact that this child HAD PARENTS!...but yet was sent off to an orphanage. WHY? One must read the book. I, for one, found this book not only interesting but was really drawn into each and every story of the everyday lifestyle of what these children went through. This is a must read!
