a wonderful surprise RABCK in my mailbox!

Thanks so much, josierivers for this wishlist book. Especially looking forward to reading this particular Alexander McCall Smith - as a grandma of two 7-1/2 year olds - Lizzie and Marcus.

I love the concept of this series: the lives of interesting and quirky residents of 44 Scotland Street.

Again, enjoyed almost-seven year old Bertie - the challenges he faces due to his mother's well-meaning, but overbearing parenting, his friendship with Tofu [and McCall's wit:] "who had lost his mother, a prominent vegan, who had unfortunately died of starvation."

The travels to Italy - Tuscany and Florence - were especially a treat to read, since we were just there.

Continuing this book's journey...
Enjoy!
