Because this book is a product of a New Zealand radio show, it contains a lot of NZ references, and Australian ones, too - some I have never heard of before. Mostly concerned with the the history of words and phrases. Seems a lot of the words we use these days are based in bastardizations of Latin, French or Old English words.

All up an interesting book. I read about 2 thirds of it whilst waiting in hospital for my procedure.

Since my local BC meetup group has dissolved, I took some books along to a gathering of friends and encouraged them to take what they were interested in reading. BC was explained to them and I do hope they journal. If not, I do hope they at least read, enjoy and pass on.
