I got this softcover at a local Savers thrift shop, attracted by the cover-art. It's the first in a series of historical mysteries set in 1920s England and featuring Saffron Everleigh, who's just started work as a research assistant in botany at a London college - despite the pressures from the mostly-male staff, who aren't sure about all these women trying to be scientists {wry grin}.

The setup was interesting, but I didn't find myself drawn in to the story - though I did enjoy the author's notes at the end, pointing out some of the inspirations for the book (and confessing to the imaginary nature of a key botanical poison).
